GHS classification, SDS and labelling consultants
GHS classification, safety data sheet (SDS) and labelling consultants may be able to assist manufacturers and importers of hazardous chemicals with classification services, preparing compliant SDS and labelling containers in accordance with the globally harmonised system for the classification and labelling of chemicals (GHS). Hazardous chemicals are those chemicals that are classified as hazardous according to the GHS. A hazardous chemical must be correctly classified in accordance with GHS by the manufacturer or where imported, by the Australian importer. SDS must also be prepared for classified hazardous chemicals. Hazardous chemicals must also be correctly labelled in accordance with the GHS prior to being supplied to a workplace.

These services may form part of an overall risk management strategy for a PCBU to safely manage hazardous chemical risks.

There are over 60 professional members who offer dangerous goods related services.
Our objective is to educate, promote, advise and consult on the safe storage and handling of dangerous goods. Since our establishment in 2001, we have built up a membership of consultants specialising in all classes of dangerous goods.
AIDGC member consultants have met entrance requirements that include formal competency assessment and satisfying the AIDGC Board of an appropriate background of competence in the storage, handling and use of those classes/divisions of dangerous goods which are listed in the membership register.
Whether for once-off advice or for ongoing projects, dangerous goods consultants can work with you to determine all the specific characteristics and requirements of your site, from storage and transport to staff training – everything you need to make your workplace compliant and safe.
They can also bring you up to date with all the relevant laws and practices and then keep you informed as things change.
AIDGC Associates are persons who demonstrate an interest in the aims of the AIDGC and in the storage, handling and use of selected classes/divisions of dangerous goods but who have not completed formal competency assessment to become full AIDGC members.
