Apply for or renew electrical worker licences

Electrical work licence (permit holders)

Apply for an electrical work licence on the completion of training under an electrical work training permit.

Electrical work licence (for apprentices)

Apply for an electrical work licence on completion of an electrical apprenticeship or apprenticeship in air-conditioning and refrigeration, instrumentation or electronics.

Electrical work licence or permit (other than apprentice)

Apply for a licence if you hold an Australian Recognised Trade Certificate, VETASSESS Offshore Technical Skills Record (OTSR) Assessment, licence from another Australian state or territory or New Zealand, electrical work permit, or require additional classes (endorsements) on a current work licence.

Restricted work licence/permit (other than apprentice)

A restricted electrical licence authorises the holder to do electrical work linked to or for the purposes of their trade or calling.

Renew/reinstate electrical worker licence

An electrical worker licence is valid for five years, unless it is cancelled or suspended.
