Renew or reinstate your electrical contractor licence

You can renew your current electrical contractor licence within two months of the expiry date.

You can also reinstate an expired electrical contractor licence within 12 months of it having expired.

PLEASE NOTE: Your reinstated licence will be issued with an expiry date twelve months from the original expiry date.

You cannot renew or reinstate your electrical contractor licence if:

  • it has been expired for more than one year
  • you have changed the legal entity structure of your business (e.g. changed from a sole trader to a company)
  • your ACN has changed because you've established a new company
  • your contractor licence was cancelled.

If any of the above apply, you need to apply for a new electrical contractor licence. You will be issued a new licence number.
