Notify or give notice to WHSQ

PCBUs are required to notify WHSQ of the following matters:

• licensed asbestos removal work (including immediate asbestos removal work)
• emergency demolition of structure or plant containing asbestos (for non-domestic and domestic buildings)
• asbestos fibre levels exceeding 0.02 fibres/ml.

Notification of asbestos removal work to particular people

A licenced asbestos removalist must tell particular persons about intended asbestos removal work at a domestic premises. Before the work commences the asbestos removalist must tell the following persons when the work is to commence:

• the person who commissioned the asbestos removal work
• a person conducting a business or undertaking at the workplace
• the occupier of the domestic premises
• the owner of the domestic premises
• anyone occupying premises in the immediate vicinity of the workplace.

A person with management and control of a workplace must tell particular persons about asbestos removal work at a workplace. Before the work commences the asbestos removalist must tell the following persons when the work is to commence:

• the person's workers and any other persons at the workplace
• the person who commissioned the asbestos removal work
• anyone conduction a business or undertaking at, or in the immediate vicintiy of the workplace
• anyone occupying premises in the immediate vicinity of the workplace.
