A diverse and values-driven workplace

Inclusion belongs in every workplace. WorkCover Queensland believes we all contribute more for ourselves, our colleagues and the Queensland community when our diverse lived experiences, perspectives and backgrounds are valued and respected.

Our Diversity, Inclusion and Belonging Strategy (PDF, 1.7 MB) outlines our way forward to embrace and harness the diversity and uniqueness of all of our people.

Inclusion is at the heart of who we are and what we do, because we believe we all work better when we work together.

WorkCover aims to create a workplace where all of our people, regardless of age, background, carer’s status, class, disability status, gender, race/ethnicity or sexual orientations:

  • are respected and valued team members
  • are connected to their team and the work we do for the Queensland community
  • can contribute and progress at work.

Inclusion makes our world work better.

We welcome applications from First Nations peoples, members of the LGBTQIA+SB community, people of all ages, people who are neurodivergent, people with disability, and people from culturally and linguistically diverse backgrounds.

We continue to strive to do better for all of our people, and the Queensland community, through various initiatives including:

  • Organisational membership with Diversity Council Australia, the Australian Disability Network and Hidden Disabilities
  • Our Innovate Reconciliation Action Plan, the next chapter in our ongoing commitment to reconciliation, because we know that in order to support anyone, we need to include everyone.  Our First Nations Strategy team lead WorkCover's reconciliation activities across our people, procurement, customer experience and community engagement pillars.
  • Our Access and Inclusion Plan, delivering on our commitment to improving accessibility for our people, workplace, customers and community. It has been developed and will be delivered in partnership with people with lived experience of disability and neurodivergence.

Internally, Amplify, our inclusive employee reference group are leading a workforce where inclusion drives every decision, every discussion, everyday. Our annual inclusion calendar celebrates events, raises awareness and develops resources across a number of domains:
