Working healthier and safer every day
Safe Work Month is held nationally in October. This year, in Queensland, we are taking a refreshed approach to encouraging our focus on safer, healthier workplaces for everyone, every day.
Working well all year round means ensuring workplaces are physically and psychologically healthy and safe. It also means that if a worker is injured, they receive the best possible support to return to work.
In 2022, Workplace Health and Safety Queensland is offering in-person and streamed events all year round under the Work Well 365 banner. Work Well 365 encourages Queensland businesses and workers to focus on the importance of work health and safety, mental health and wellbeing, and best practice rehabilitation and return to work – not just in October, but 365 days a year.
The regional breakfast forums return this year: Rockhampton (5 August), Toowoomba (18 August), Cairns (22 September) and Mackay (2 November) and WHS professionals and business leaders are invited to the Work Well forums to learn, connect and share ideas.
Featuring presentations on good work design, incident preparedness and enhancing team safety skills, behaviours and attitudes, the forums provide you with new ideas and strategies to implement in your workplace. Register now - at just $60 + GST per ticket, you’ll get the benefits of event networking, exclusive access to presentations and a plated breakfast.
Registrations have also opened for the Work Well Conference in Brisbane on 24 October. There’s a full day of professional development and networking for those on the front line of health and safety and return to work. High profile expert speakers and industry icons will highlight safety leadership and culture, creating a positive work environment, good work design and overcoming barriers to return to work.
