Transport and warehouse safety compliance campaign underway

Is your work site ready for an inspection? Workplace Health and Safety Queensland are running a statewide compliance program on the safe use of fixed plant in the transport and warehouse industries from 2 February to 31 March 2026.

The program supports businesses to manage risks and protect workers who operate or work near fixed plant and forms part of WHSQ’s ongoing commitment to improving safety outcomes in Queensland’s high-risk industries.

What is the campaign focusing on?

Inspectors will focus on how workplaces manage risks associated with:

  • conveyor systems
  • fixed racking and shelving systems
  • fixed lifting equipment (such as overhead/bridge cranes, gantry cranes or jib cranes, fixed hoists and fixed lifting equipment)
  • refrigerants within cool rooms.

Tips to help you prepare

A proactive approach makes a real difference. Businesses that regularly review their control measures are often better placed to manage risks and keep workers safe.

Taking time now to check that processes are effective and compliant can help prevent incidents and improve safety outcomes in your workplace.

Free advisory support is available through our Injury Prevention and Management program, which helps businesses strengthen their health, safety and injury management systems.
