Share your electrical safety achievements in 2023 Work Well Awards

Have you or your team found the best solution to an identified electrical issue over the last 12 months? Would you like to win $1,000 and have the opportunity to promote your business state-wide? Enter this year’s Work Well Awards.

The Work Well Award’s category three – Best solution to an identified electrical issue is all about electrical safety, recognising excellence in developing and implementing a solution to an identified workplace electrical safety issue. This may include a product solution, design/engineering innovation, training program, awareness raising activity, or other risk control measure that addresses a specific electrical issue or reduces the risk of work-related injury or disease.

All you need to do is describe the electrical issue and how it was identified, explain the solution that you developed to address the issue, outline how successful the solution was, and finally let us know how it improved electrical safety outcomes.

Case study of a winner

Last year’s electrical safety category winner was Mark Smith of SET Maritime and Electrical, an electrical contractor, accredited marine surveyor and chartered marine engineer. Mark was surveying hundreds of vessels when he discovered that shore connections were not compliant with Australian standards, which was a serious electrical hazard posing a risk of electrocution.

Mark was concerned that boat owners were unknowingly non-compliant and at risk of serious injury, and so he designed a compact ‘plug and play’ shore connection system called ESHORE. Read more about Mark’s solution and winning entry here.

If this sounds like you or someone you know, nominate today.

Entries close 16 June 2023 and winners will be announced during Safe Work Month in October.
