Warning for workers doing gig work while receiving workers’ compensation

Let your workers know it’s important to tell their workers’ compensation insurer if they plan to work as a ride-share driver or do other gig work while they’re receiving workers’ compensation benefits—even if they have already told you.
Why this is important
More workers are being reported for doing gig work such as ride-share driving during their workers’ compensation claim.
In many instances workers are not aware that doing this work while unfit for work could impact their claim or that they could also be prosecuted for fraud if they don’t disclose this work to their insurer.
