New COVID case studies highlight work safely for businesses

New case studies have been published to help businesses continue to work safely as COVID-19 restrictions ease.

Published by Safe Work Australia, the case studies provide practical answers for real everyday issues faced by businesses such as physical distancing, cleaning and use of gloves, and mental health.

The mental health case studies feature a small real estate business and a printing company, with tips on how to boost staff morale and intra workplace communication. The printing company case study has advice on how to welcome back to the office a worker who has recovered from COVID-19.

The physical distancing study looks at how to keep safely apart when working in a close environment by detailing how an apprentice and an electrician kept 1.5m apart while working in a roof cavity. It highlights the importance of having a workplan and not sharing tools and implements.

The two case studies on gloves and cleaning reinforce the importance of PPE and keeping up to date with COVID-19 hygiene advice from health authorities. They focus on an electrical maintenance worker and an owner driver, showing how they work safely with colleagues.
