Last chance to comment on proposed workers’ comp for gig workers

There are still a few days left to comment on the Queensland Government's proposal to include some gig economy workers in Queensland's workers' compensation scheme.

The Government has released a consultation regulatory impact statement (RIS) seeking feedback on whether the workers' compensation scheme should cover certain gig economy workers, such as work on demand ride share drivers and food deliverers. The RIS also considers whether the workers' compensation scheme should cover bailee taxi and limousine drivers.

You are invited to have your say about this proposal and the Government will have regard to issues raised in written submissions responding to this RIS.

Open submissions can be provided, or you can address the focus questions provided in the RIS in relation to the respective options proposed for certain gig workers or bailee taxi and limousine drivers.
