Changes to asbestos transport and disposal requirements

Recent changes to the Environmental Protection Regulation 2019 which require waste tracking documentation and the need to secure approvals for transporting asbestos materials have been reflected in Asbestos—A guide for minor renovation .

Regulated waste transport and disposal scenarios are provided in the updated guide for homeowners and contractors as well as information on securing and containing asbestos waste during transport.

The guide is a long-trusted source of information which covers asbestos, asbestos containing materials and safe work procedures. It has advice for homeowners, tradies and businesses. It features checklists for anyone about to work with asbestos, information about Queensland laws, and tips on contacting local councils for approvals, determining whether a licensed asbestos removalist is needed and deciding how the material will be disposed. Both non-friable and friable materials are explained.
