Rise in falls through skylights

In recent months, WHSQ has received reports about people falling through skylights.

Falling from height can cause death and serious injury and unfortunately, the risk of falling is still too common for many work-related activities.

If you’re preparing to work on a roof or at height, all surfaces need to be inspected to identify and isolate any potential areas of fragility.

PCBUs must treat this identification process as ‘continual’ when commencing height works and consider four key areas: identifying the hazards, assessing the risks, controlling the risks, and reviewing control measures to ensure they’re effective.
