Musculoskeletal Disorders Symposium 2021

Registrations are open for the 2021 Musculoskeletal Disorders Symposium, 1-3 June 2021, featuring international and national experts, industry case studies, an expo and networking.

Hosted by Workplace Health and Safety Queensland on behalf of the Heads of Workplace Safety Authorities, the fully online three-day symposium theme is safety by design. Presentations include evidence and systems thinking for preventing MSDs and designing healthy and safe work now and into the future.

This year’s speakers include:

  • Nick Buettner - Nick will present National Geographic funded research on the longest-lived and healthiest places in the world. Nick will discuss the common lifestyle and cultural traits of these locations and how these traits align to workplaces.
  • Professor Sarah Sharples - a Professor of Human Factors at the University of Nottingham in the UK, Sarah will discuss how technology is changing the way we work, and how work is designed.
  • Dr Christopher Reid - a Human Factors and Ergonomics Associate Technical Fellow for Boeing in the US, Dr Reid will present on the improved acceptability and utilisation of industrial exoskeletons, including how they can be designed to fit a variety of worker sizes and demands.

The three-day event costs $165 and features more than 20 expert speakers. A range of sponsorships opportunities are on offer to showcase your business to work health and safety professionals.
