Free farm safety calendars still available – just!

2019 farm safety calendar

Workplace Health and Safety Queensland still has a few copies of the 2019 farm safety calendar, featuring the winning drawings of primary school students in rural and regional Queensland.

The calendars highlight work safety in a rural environment and serve as a great reminder to take care when working around the farm and to make safety a priority for workers, families and children.

Around 20 Australian children lose their lives in farms accidents every year and many more are hospitalised with injuries. The calendar competition is great way to get our future farmers thinking about the extra care needed around the farm, with the focus this year on quad bikes, motorbikes and machinery; animal handling; sun safety and healthy lifestyle, and kids on farms.

The 12 winning entrants not only have the honour of having their picture illustrate a month in the 2019 calendar, they also received a $250 voucher for themselves and a $500 voucher for their school.
