Terms and conditions for events requiring registration payment

Introduction

These terms and conditions apply to Office of Industrial Relations (OIR) and use of payment service provided by BPOINT for events.

Acceptance

Please read these terms and conditions carefully. The commencement of your registration requiring payment and use of the online payment facility constitutes acceptance of these terms and conditions.

Amendments to Terms and Conditions

OIR reserves the right to amend these terms and conditions at any time without notice. You should therefore re-read the terms and conditions each time registration and payment service is used.

Payment

Payment must be made within seven (7) days of registering for the event* or if registering within seven (7) days for the event, at the time of registration.

*If the event offers an early bird rate, payment must be made by the specified date. If full payment is not made by this date, an invoice will be reissued at the full rate.

Payment is required before a place at the event is held for you. A written confirmation will be provided to the registrant.

No request for refunds will be accepted if cancellation is made less than seven (7) days prior to commencement of the event.

All requests for cancellation and/or refunds should be directed to events@oir.qld.gov.au. If a cancellation and refund request is received more than seven (7) days prior to the commencement of the event a refund for the registration amount only will be processed. Credit or bank fees separately billed by your banking institution will not be refunded.

If a registrant is unable to attend, a substitute delegate is welcome. Please note notification in writing to events@oir.qld.gov.au of the delegate should be made seven (7) days before the event.

No payments will be accepted on the day of the event.

Payment can only be made using the following credit cards:

  • VisaCard
  • MasterCard
  • Direct Deposit

Before using the online payment service, enquiry should be made of the bank and credit card provider for other fees (if any) that may be incurred as a result of using the online payment service. Any credit or bank fees will be separately billed to your credit card.

OIR does not receive any part of the bank or credit card fee/s.

Payment completed through the online payment service is subject to your financial institutions and credit card provider individual terms and conditions. You must direct your queries to them for processing times and if the payment is subsequently refused or reversed by the credit card provider, for whatever reason, OIR accepts no responsibility for refusal or reversal of payments which are matters solely between the user of the service and the credit card provider/s.

Information provided by you

The information supplied in the registration and payment form and when using the online payment service is required to process your registration and payment accurately and efficiently. It is the sole responsibility of the registrant to ensure that any information provided shall be correct, complete and accurate. You shall not at any time provide us with information which is false, inaccurate, misleading, obsolete or deceptive.

It is recommended that you take and retain a copy of the transaction for record keeping purposes and to assist with the resolution of any disputes that may arise from use of the service.

Disclaimer and Limitation of Liability

The online payment service is provided through a secure website. However OIR is not able to give any assurance that information provided online by a user may not be able to be read or intercepted by a third party. OIR does not accept any liability in the event of the interception, 'hacking' or other unauthorised access to information provided by a user of the online payment service.

OIR does not accept liability for any damage, loss, cost (including legal costs), expenses, indirect losses or consequential damage of any kind which may be suffered or incurred from the use of the online payment facility.

No warranty, representation or guarantee, express or implied, are given by OIR in respect of the operation of the online payment service.

The above disclaimer, warranty and limitation of liability operate only to the extent permitted by law.
