| Facts | In January 2025, the defendant made a claim for compensation for an injury sustained to his neck and back while working as a youth care worker in a residential home. The claim was accepted by WCQ. During his claim, the defendant commenced working for a different youth care company in February 2025. The defendant did not tell WCQ about his work with the new company despite being asked on multiple occasions by WCQ through his claim about whether he was working. The offending came to light in June 2025 when WCQ received a tip-off that the defendant was working in another job. Over the period of the offending, the defendant defrauded WCQ of just over $24,500. |
