Retail and wholesale ISSC communique: March 2026

The Retail and Wholesale Industry Sector Standing Committee (Committee) met on Thursday, 19 March 2026.

Members discussed draft Health and Safety Representative (HSR) training scenarios relevant to different industries. Members agreed to seek feedback from HSRs, and continue to consider scenarios to provide to the Office of Industrial Relations (OIR) to support the HSR course redesign project.

Members discussed the release of the Queensland Productivity Commission’s Opportunities to Improve Productivity of the Construction Industry in Queensland – Final Report and the Queensland Government’s response, in particularthe contents of recommendation 50. Members agreed to consider this matter further out of session.

The Committee noted Transition Arrangements for the Mentally Healthy Workplace Workshops, Safe Work Australia’s model incident notification provisions and OIR updates on heat stress guidance materials

The next meeting of the Committee will be held on Thursday, 4 June 2026.
