Retail and wholesale ISSC communique: April 2024

The Retail and Wholesale Industry Sector Standing Committee (Committee) met on Thursday, 11 July 2024.

The Chair, Mr Matthew Littleboy, informed the members that the Work Health and Safety Board (WHS Board) had endorsed the Committee’s Terms of Reference.

Mr Sebastian Bielen, Director, Data and Evaluation Services, demonstrated the Office of Industrial Relations’ Power BI dashboard (dashboard). The dashboard was developed as an alternative to paper-based reports and offers enhanced functionality with drill-down options and cross-industry data for easy comparison and reference. The Office of Industrial Relations is currently working to arrange access for WHS Board and Industry Sector Standing Committee members.

The Committee held an in-depth discussion in order to provide feedback to the WHS Board on a proposed heat stress code of practice.

The Committee reviewed its draft forward plan and further development to focus on critical issues in the industry along with ad-hoc matters.

The next meeting of the Committee will be held on Thursday, 17 October 2024.
