Supporting consultants and responsible suppliers with the updated EESS platform
The Electrical Safety Office (ESO) is continuing to provide targeted support to key groups using the Electrical Equipment Safety System (EESS) platform through a series of upcoming webinars.
The EESS is a framework for safety of household electrical equipment being sold to consumers or installed in Queensland homes. It is supported by use of the *Regulatory Compliance Mark (RCM), a publicly accessible national register of responsible suppliers who manufacture or import the equipment, including a register of equipment being sold by those responsible suppliers.
Consumers and those installing electrical equipment are encouraged to check for the RCM and search the EESS platform database to verify the household equipment is registered before making a purchase or installation occurs.
In response to industry feedback, tailored webinars will be available for those who use the EESS platform for processes to register equipment These sessions are designed to provide practical, hands-on guidance to help users navigate recent updates to the system and better understand their responsibilities.
Led by subject matter experts from ESO’s equipment safety and customer support teams, the sessions will explain key platform features and answers common questions we typically receive. By offering clear, accessible information and support, we’re helping to make compliance simpler and more transparent, which forms part of our ongoing work to engage with industry, strengthen partnerships and promote improved electrical safety outcomes across Queensland.
