Last chance to enter: farm safety calendar comp

Primary school children around Queensland are currently creating safety messages to enter the annual farm safety calendar competition hosted by Workplace Health and Safety Queensland.

Students from prep to year six are competing for prizes by creating safety illustrations focussing on electricity, animals, tractors and machinery, quad bikes, water safety, and general health and wellbeing on the farm. And…there’s two electrical safety themes in this year’s competition:

  • “Overhead powerlines are dangerous. Don’t play, park equipment, operate machinery, or plant trees or crops under them.”
  • “Safety switches save lives - ask an adult to get them fitted on all electrical circuits and test them regularly.”

12 winners will receive a $250 gift card and $500 for their school.
