Guest speakers
Since 1998, Ed Zappert has focused on insurance litigation, including workers’ compensation, public liability, and professional indemnity. He worked in private practice until 2017, representing London underwriters and multinational corporations in public liability and workers’ compensation matters.
At Crown Law, Ed leads the WorkCover team, providing specialist advice and representation to WorkCover Queensland in defending common law claims for workplace injury damages. He is also the Acting Deputy Crown Solicitor for the Commercial, Property, Insurance, and Risk Branch. Ed is a member of the Queensland Medico-legal Society and has previously served on the Queensland committee of the Australian Insurance Law Association.
Andrew Hall provides specialist legal advice and representation to WorkCover Queensland in defending common law damages claims for work-related injuries. He joined Crown Law in 2003, bringing over a decade of experience, including his prior role in the Common Law Division of WorkCover Queensland.
Before this, Andrew practiced in the private sector for many years, working across various areas including plaintiff personal injury, partnership disputes, criminal defence, wills and estates, family law, and conveyancing. He has also appeared as an advocate or instructing solicitor in various courts, including the Supreme, District, Magistrates, and Family Courts.
