Updated Allied Health fees - effective 1 July 2026

WorkCover Queensland has updated the Allied Health Services Tables of Costs for the 2026–27 financial year.
The new fees apply to services delivered from 1 July 2026.

What you need to do
- review the updated fees before billing for services delivered from 1 July 2026
- update your billing systems and templates to reflect the new rates
- check the service date, item number, descriptor and billing model before submitting invoices
- make sure invoices use the correct fee year based on the service date.
These tables show the maximum fees WorkCover Queensland can pay. Once an invoice has been paid, it generally can’t be adjusted.
What has changed
This year’s update includes indexed fee increases, some pricing changes and clearer item descriptions to support consistent billing.
Key changes:
- Fee increases across many items
Indexation has been applied to many fees, including standard consultations, hourly services, reports, communication items, case conferences and travel.
- Fixed fee for some exercise consultations
Exercise physiology and physiotherapy Work Specific Functional Exercise Program subsequent consultations now have a fixed fee of $173.00 (items 300187 and 100402). These should not be billed hourly and are expected to run for at least 45 minutes.
- Updated standard consultation and hourly rates
Common standard consultation rates are now $137.00 (initial) and $108.00 (subsequent), where applicable. Hourly rates across many services have also been updated, including the general hourly rate of $231.00 per hour.
- Changes to travel fees
- Treatment travel increased to $171.00 per hour.
- Return to work services travel increased to $206.00 per hour.
Usual expectations about reasonable and necessary travel still apply.
- Clearer report and communication descriptors
Descriptions have been updated to clarify when these items can be billed, including differences between psychology and non-psychology reports.
- Telehealth wording reviewed
Descriptions have been reviewed to reinforce that telehealth refers to video consultations only. Phone consultations aren’t included.
- Return to work services descriptors updated
Job seeking and preparation services have been combined under a single item (300168), and vocational assessment wording has been updated to clarify when labour market analysis may be included in this assessment.
- Other updates
- External case management has been added to the shared Allied Health Services Table of Costs for use with NIISQ participants where needed.
- Hand therapy dressing bundle fees have been indexed.
