Fatal helicopter incident on the Gold Coast

Workplace Health and Safety Queensland (WHSQ) refers to the tragedy that occurred when two helicopters collided on the Gold Coast on 2 January 2023 resulting in a number of fatalities. When a workplace fatality occurs in a highly technical environment such as aviation, the most relevant authorities are activated to investigate.
This incident is being investigated by the Queensland Police Service (QPS) in conjunction with the Australian Transport Safety Bureau (ATSB) and the Civil Aviation Safety Authority (CASA). WHSQ is contributing to this wider investigation.
