Find out how to improve your workplace culture, work environment and the health of your workers. These improvements could come from simple changes to the design of your work place or how workers perform work. This forum will help you to imbed work health and wellbeing into your business to improve the physical and psychological health of your workers and ultimately your bottom line.
Keynote presenter, Dr Jeannette Young will be discussing the risk factors for chronic disease in the work environment. Dr Young is the Chief Health Officer and Deputy Director-General of the Department of Health Prevention Division and brings a wealth of knowledge and experience to this field.
Hear from Professor Niki Ellis about real life examples of organisations who have adopted a broad, systematic approach to health, safety and wellbeing and the benefits they have achieved including better organisational culture and lower injury rates.
You’ll be introduced to Workplace Health and Safety Queensland’s new Health and wellbeing toolkit. This toolkit outlines a step-by-step process to assist organisations embed work health and wellbeing into their business systems. The toolkit looks at how poor work design, culture and the physical environment can contribute to the development of chronic diseases, musculoskeletal disorders and psychological illness. The toolkit looks at how these risks can be reduced by having positive health and wellbeing processes in place.
Peter Gould of Redland City Council will discuss how the council has introduced a health and wellbeing program, touching on the challenges they faced and the benefits they have achieved.
