Managing respirable crystalline silica dust exposure in the stone benchtop industry information session - Rockhampton - 9 October 2019

Silicosis is preventable by using proper controls to eliminate or minimise exposure to respirable crystalline silica dust in the workplace.

Workplace Health and Safety Queensland in collaboration with the Australian Institute of Occupational Hygienists (AIOH) will deliver 10 information sessions across the state.

Register for a session to find out what the new code means for your business, including the minimum standards for:

  • controlling exposure to respirable crystalline silica dust exposure at the workshop and during onsite installation
  • respirator use
  • clean up and slurry management
  • air monitoring
  • health monitoring.

Workplace Health and Safety Queensland will provide an update on compliance audits carried out across the industry, and what’s happening next.

AIOH will present Breathe Freely Australia, an education and awareness campaign aimed at reducing occupational lung disease in the workplace.
