Drones enhancing work safety

Drones enhancing work safety

Have you considered how drone technology could improve work health and safety at your business?

Join us as we hear from industry representatives about how they are using drones to reduce risks for workers and improve business productivity.

Our ‘Drones enhancing work safety’ workshop will draw on the experience of five Queensland businesses that are using drones to eliminate risks such as working at height and in remote, hazardous or toxic environments.

  • Thompson Longhorn uses drones to capture real time analysis on cattle handling practices and stockyard design.
  • Movie World is moving towards using drone technology for inspections.
  • Shell and Insitu Pacific uses ex-military drones for gas field inspections beyond visual line of sight.
  • Electrix uses drones to inspect remote electricity lines, mitigate bushfire risks and inspect assets in difficult locations and terrain.
  • Shadforth Civil uses drones for real time and remote works inspections and environmental control reviews.

A panel session with industry representatives, the Civil Aviation Safety Authority (CASA) and Workplace Health and Safety Queensland will unravel some of the challenges, regulations and legislation involved in commercial drones use.

This event is being held in conjunction with the World of Drones Congress. For more information on the congress visit worldofdrones.com.au or contact safe@oir.qld.gov.au.
