Childcare industry forum
If you're an employer in the childcare industry, we'd like to invite you to attend our upcoming forum. The forum, hosted by WorkCover Queensland, is tailored to childcare employers, and aims to equip you with knowledge to deal with common workplace injuries and rehabilitation scenarios as well as how to identify risk and reduce risk to your staff.

The event features an expert panel of speakers from the legal and safety industries, as well as a case study from an employer sharing their 'safety culture' journey. The event will be opened by WorkCover Queensland's new CEO Bruce Watson. Speakers include:

Dr Robin “Sid” O’Toole is an Occupational and Environmental Physician who offers expert advice on the risks occurring at the interface of health, work and the environment.
After graduating in Melbourne, Dr O’Toole spent several years in the Royal Australian Air Force (RAAF) in full-time active service, acquiring extensive aeromedical experience. Following completion of his tenure, Dr O’Toole commenced civilian Occupation Medicine practice in Brisbane and undertook his training within the Australasian Faculty of Occupational and Environmental Medicine, within the Royal Australasian College of Physicians.
Dr O’Toole is passionate about preventing workplace injury and illness. He is a founding director of Resile Pty Ltd.
Kylie Warren-Wright is the National Safe Work and Wellbeing Manager for Goodstart Early Learning. She leads the organisation’s Safe Work and Wellbeing Unit and is responsible for the health and safety of the big and little people in Goodstart’s centres. Kylie's innovative approach to safety, rehabilitation and infectious disease management has established Goodstart as an industry leader in these fields. She is passionate about the early learning sector and the dedicated professionals who work in it. Kylie is a board member of Play Australia, a member of the Consumer Product Industry Research Advisory Group and co-chairs the National Safety Working Group for the Early Learning and Care Council of Australia.
Peter Irving is an Occupational Therapist, Rehabilitation Chair ASIEQ and Panel Provider WorkCover Queensland. He is a well regarded and accomplished therapist with 17 years’ experience in occupational rehabilitation. One of 37 panel providers chosen by WorkCover Queensland to provide return to work services in Queensland. HE is the current Chair of Rehabilitation for ASIEQ, co-coordinator and host of the 2015 ASIEQ Injury Management Conference and preferred provider for Volvo Group Australia for over 12 years.
|Scott Falvey holds a Bachelor of Laws degree from Bond University and a Masters of Health and Medical Law from the University of Melbourne. Scott has completed further studies in mediation, negotiation and leadership at Harvard Law School. He was admitted as a solicitor of the Supreme Court of Queensland in 1994. Scott sits on the External Advisory Committee to the law school of the University of the Sunshine Coast and also sits on the Human Research and Ethics Committee of the University of the Sunshine Coast. His current practice involves the representation of insurers in personal injury litigation throughout Queensland. He has a special interest in insurance litigation involving workplace injuries.|
