Queensland University of Technology: Wellness Matters

QUT: Wellness Matters program  achieved Gold recognition in the Be Recognised program, which acknowledges organisations that embed health and wellbeing into their organisational systems and culture.

Gold recognition

QUT encourages a healthy and productive working environment that values and supports all staff to participate by being active, eating well and staying happy while at work. QUT's Wellness Matters program is for all staff on all campuses, including full-time, part-time, sessional and casual employees.

QUT has been awarded, in two successive years, a 'Gold' status by the Queensland Government's 'Healthier. Happier. Workplaces' initiative and is a recognised leader in workplace wellness.

What we offer

QUT supports staff to gain knowledge and motivation to lead a healthier lifestyle by providing resources and opportunities relating to getting active, eating well, staying happy at work and supporting others. QUT's Wellness Matters program provides corporate activities for all staff, together with customised services for senior leaders, managers and staff in local work areas.

Wellness leadership

Senior wellness leaders and wellness ambassadors form a vital network that helps drive our wellness culture at QUT: by leading others as effective role models, embedding local wellness activities and engaging peers to attend or participate in corporate program activities.

Health services and facilities

QUT staff can access a comprehensive range of conveniently located health and wellbeing services. These include medical centres, allied health clinics, gymnasiums, pools, cycling facilities and outdoor recreation areas. Additional staff wellness benefits include discounted private health insurance, salary packaging for campus gym memberships (where eligible) and other staff discounts.
