Child safety
Farms are great places for children to grow and develop. However, the safety for children on farms is a major concern.
Some of these concerns include:
- drownings in dams, irrigation channels and rivers/creeks
- quad bike accidents
- machinery and vehicle accidents
- injuries from livestock.
Farmsafe Australia has developed Child Safety on Farms: A Framework for a National Strategy and a program of work at Ag Health to address this issue.
