WorkCover Queensland will be flying the flag for mates on 10 September, to show our support as part of the annual Fly the Flag for MATES in Construction campaign.
More than 250 workplaces are registered to Fly the Flag on World Suicide Prevention Day on 10 September. MATES in Construction (MIC) is calling on construction sites, offices and workplaces to Fly the Flag as a sign of your industry commitment to reduce the high rates of suicide.
You can register your workplace for the day on the MATES in Construction website.
On the day you can share a photo of you or your workplace – preferably a photo that is iconic for your site or workplace including the MATES in Construction flag or symbol. The most innovative photos will be shared on the MIC Facebook page and printed in the OnSite newsletter. Share your photos on Twitter using the #MICFlytheflag and/or @MATESConstruct you can also e-mail the photo to MIC with a short description.
If your workplace is not participating in Fly the Flag you can still support MATES in Construction on 10 September (and Fly the Flag for MATES in Construction day) by making a donation.
MATES in Construction is a charity to reduce the high level of suicide among Australian construction workers.
