Sandra believes that early intervention and early reporting is key to improving return to work outcomes. She encourages owners, directors, safety managers, site supervisors and staff responsible for the safety and wellbeing of workers to take a proactive approach to work injury management.
She believes that ongoing open and honest communication, keeping everyone informed, having regular face-to-face catch-ups, builds trust and develops good working relationships with everyone involved.
She has developed tailored return to work packs for employers and a 'Supervisor Check List' that provides supervisors with an easy guide once a work injury has occurred.
Sandra develops 'suitable duties' plans based on well-developed knowledge of the workplaces she engages with. She consults with the supervisors and the injured workers during this process to ensure these plans are comprehensive and relevant.
