Laser Electrical Edmonton
Category five – Best workplace health and wellbeing initiative
Laser Electrical Edmonton, part of the Laser Electrical Group, is a small business employing seven staff. They have implemented a health and wellbeing initiative that is simple and cost positive. Their approach was innovative, redesigning the work schedule to give their staff a long weekend every week, without imposing additional work pressures on their staff.
The changes were achieved through consulting with their workers, supply chain and customers, ensuring that both worker and business needs were met. This increased their workers' uptake of healthy lifestyle choices and overall wellbeing and work life balance.
They have created an organisation that works differently to the norm and demonstrates that their staff wellbeing and contribution is highly valued.
