Logan Water Alliance, incorporating Logan City Council and engineering service providers Tenix, Cardno and Parsons Brinckerhoff, develops new and improved water and waste water infrastructure.
Logan Water Alliance activities are guided by an integrated safety, quality and environment management system that includes policies, standards, legislation, organisational requirements and processes to manage and monitor health and safety risks.
A suite of activities, plans and procedures to manage health and safety risks are implemented on each project including:
- risk registers and workshops
- site packs containing health and safety plans, templates, forms and documentation
- site inductions for staff, subcontractors and visitors
- health and safety performance indicators
- 'lessons learnt' workshops after each project is completed.
Logan Water Alliance also delivers a range of wellbeing initiatives including a 'people management plan' that features health and wellbeing educational sessions, career and life planning support, group exercise sessions and links to external counselling services.
Logan Water Alliance's safety systems have contributed to a lost time injury frequency rate of zero since June 2012, compared with 2.35 the previous year, and 95 per cent of Logan Water Alliance's workers now report they are satisfied with the organisation's health and safety management
