North Queensland Work Well Conference — registrations closing soon!

Register now and join us for the North Queensland Work Well Conference 2023 in Townsville on May 24 and 25 where you’ll have the opportunity to attend a full day conference, a networking function, and half a day of masterclasses!

The conference focuses on injury prevention, mental health, work health and safety, rehabilitation and return to work, with our expert speakers providing insights and practical advice on supporting injured workers returning to the workplace.

Speaker Maryanne Harris will share her research into wearable technologies, and neuroplasticity. With her husband's spinal cord injury as a driving force, RoboFit was founded and focuses on bringing emerging technologies to Australia and providing centres for individuals to explore the possibilities of assistive technologies in supporting rehabilitation.

You’ll also hear from Dylan Furey who is an Accredited Allied Health Professional, Clinical Physiologist and Exercise Scientist. Dylan has worked extensively with multiple return to work (WorkCover) cases and return to full hours cases. He has vast experience in presenting workshops and facilitating group training for Allied Health Practitioners and the public.

Other keynote speakers who will focus on injury management are:

  • Ken Ware (Founder – NeuroPhysics Therapy and Neurotricional Sciences Education), presenting on ‘The path to recovery – A comprehensive approach to rehabilitating musculoskeletal and psychological injuries for a safe return to work’.
  • Dr Mary Wyatt (Occupational physician, and Chair – Foundation for Research into Injury and Illness in the Workplace), presenting on ‘Evidence-informed care – A smart investment into work injury management’.

The interactive half day of masterclasses on May 25 sees speaker Scott Dutton delve into the topic of 'difficult conversations' and an opportunity to learn more about Queensland's new Managing the risks of psychosocial hazards at work Code of Practice 2022.
