Don’t let hand injuries get out of hand

An injured hand is likely to have a major impact on personal and occupational functional capacity so it’s important to ensure hand injuries are promptly diagnosed and treated. Rehabilitation and return to work coordinators should ensure a clear and consistent diagnosis is available early in the injury management pathway.

Shine a light – 2021 Safe Work and Return to Work Award winner

The Safe Work and Return to Work Awards are a great way to recognise the exceptional level of work by businesses and individuals. Last year, Nancy Andrian from LendLease took out the title of Best individual contribution to rehabilitation and return to work category. As the Injury Care and Recovery Manager for Lendlease Queensland for the past six years, Nancy supports 810 staff in their wellness journey to return them to their best lifestyle after an injury or illness and ultimately back to work.

Return to work guidelines for mine dust lung diseases now available

New expert medical guidelines on returning workers with mine dust lung diseases (MDLD) to the workplace are available. The guidelines will assist you with decisions on safe return to work, including what levels of dust exposure are appropriate for workers with disease and ongoing health monitoring of workers.
