Shift the conversation and change the future of work

Do you have a work safety story, opportunity, case study, or research that should be presented on the world’s stage?

Now is your opportunity to contribute your knowledge and expertise to global harm prevention at the 23rd World Congress on Safety and Health at Work in Sydney next year. First held in 1955, the World Congress on Safety and Health at Work is one of the largest international conferences for work health and safety.

Across the week event, you can network and participate in workshops, forums, technical sessions, roundtable conversations and more. You’ll learn about emerging trends, develop skills to mitigate new risks and gain knowledge of work health and safety best practices.

The congress is now accepting abstracts for speakers and poster presentations to be viewed by a global audience from 120 countries.

To help ensure everyone benefits in the future world of work, the congress is looking for new research, case studies, and real-life experience from around the world. Share your insights, and contribute to helping others understand risk, prevent harm, and implement work health and safety strategies that save lives.

Submitting an abstract can help change the world of work for the better. Abstract submissions close 30 November 2022.

Submitting an abstract allows you to share your knowledge with thousands of international leaders, decision makers, and experts in occupational safety and health. You don’t need to be a researcher, regulator or senior executive to share your views. The World Congress seeks to share the perspectives and stories of people from all industries and roles.

The 23rd World Congress theme is Shaping change, collaborating for a healthier and safer world of work. The key topics are collaborating for a better future; a changing world of work, and futureproofing against risks.

The congress says it is looking for "great storytelling and knowledge sharing above all else".

Abstract submissions close 30 November and you will be notified if you’ve been successful in April 2023. If for any reason you need to update your abstract submission, you’ll be able to amend it until the closing date.

All the details on making a submission and more, including what participants are interested in hearing about and what work safety risks they want addressed, can be found at Safety and Health at Work, Sydney 2023
