Guidance Note for Fatigue Risk Management
The Guidance Note for Fatigue Risk Management by the Queensland Government Department of Natural Resources and Mines aims to assist mine sites in developing and implementing a plan to systematically manage fatigue risks in the workplace.
Fatigue is a state of physical and mental impairment, and can include physical and/or mental elements, associated with lower alertness, reduced performance and impaired decision making. There is a direct link between fatigue and increased risk of being involved in an incident or accident.
The report discusses what fatigue is and why it's a problem, who needs a fatigue risk management plan, developing and implementing a plan to manage the risk of fatigue and more.
It will also help employers/senior management identify the roles and responsibilities of persons within the organisation who are responsible for developing and implementing the plan.
