About the Small Business Program
The Small Business Program provides free work health and safety advisory services to small businesses throughout Queensland.
The program is run regionally, with face to face services provided where possible by specialised advisors and inspectors throughout Queensland. The coordinating team in Brisbane can put you in contact with your local office.
We provide information and advice through a number of services including on-site visits, workshops, and phone and email contact. See our services page for details.
Our services are designed for businesses with fewer than 20 workers, and those with little or no safety systems in place. Larger or complex business may be suitable for our Injury Prevention and Management Program, or may wish to seek professional assistance ( PDF, 347.18 KB) such as an external consultant.
Our program aims to improve the ability of small businesses to manage their own health and safety. We advise and assist small business owners or managers, and provide them with tools and information to help them meet their work health and safety requirements.
We can’t sign off a business’ system or write systems for them, but we can show business owners or managers how to write, manage and maintain systems themselves for free.
