Mental Health at Work Action Plan

Mental Health at Work Action Plan

Reducing the incidence and severity of work-related mental health conditions and promoting good work design to enhance mental health is a priority for Workplace Health and Safety Queensland.

To align with the Australian Work Health and Safety Strategy 2012-2022, we will work with Queensland businesses to create mentally healthy workplaces through the implementation of our Mental Health at Work Action Plan (PDF, 184.27 KB) .

The Action Plan aims to:

  1. build leadership capability at all levels of industry to better understand and manage psychosocial hazards and workplace factors that impact on psychological health and safety (includes both physical and psychological injuries)
  2. turn the latest research into practical, evidence based tools relevant to the industry sectors experiencing the highest prevalence of mental health conditions
  3. work with community, industry and social partners to increase the visibility and importance of creating a mentally healthy workplace
  4. provide a targeted and effective regulatory framework designed to increase recognition of psychosocial hazards and workplace factors that impact psychological health and safety, and industry’s ability to meet legal requirements.
