The following webinars were run by the National Retail Association of Queensland to help members better understand their responsibilities in relation to workplace injury prevention and management.

Webinar 1: An essential guide for employers – health, safety and workers’ compensation
(4 May 2016)

This webinar discusses the following topics: the benefits of safety and safety management, the obligations of employers and workers, and the benefits of having an accident insurance policy.

Guest speakers include Julie Gallagher from the Small Business Program at Workplace Health and Safety Queensland, and Jane Stevens, Retail Industry Manager at WorkCover Queensland.

Webinar 2: Returning to the workplace after an injury (5 May 2016)

Both workers and employers can benefit from an early return to work after a workplace injury. This webinar looks at: retail trends - the most common injuries and number of injury claims, how to communicate with your injured workers, the recovery process and the benefits it brings to both the business and workers, suitable duties to help the worker back to the workplace, and the important role frontline supervisors play in getting workers back to work.

The guest speaker is Jane Stevens, Retail Industry Manager at WorkCover Queensland.
