Not all workers are back at work when their claim ends with WorkCover. However, there is another option available.
Employment Connect is a program for workers whose claim has finished but who have not returned to work. The program focuses on ways to improve a workers overall employability to help them get back into the workforce.
How the program works
When a claim ends, WorkCover will discuss Employment Connect with the worker. They can then choose to take part in the program. The program, which can be tailored to individual needs may involve:
- Initial conversation with each worker to fully understand their needs
- Developing a goal-orientated plan with workers, tailored to their needs
- Varied and flexible services to work through each step of the plan and encourage worker independence
- Support throughout the program, with a follow up after completion
The program is a commitment from us to continue to help workers on their recovery journey and improve employability.
