Dan and Debbie Kennedy

“Work-related deaths and serious injuries affect a broad range of workers, and our members have diverse stories and knowledge.”

Dan and Debbie Kennedy’s son Dale Daniel Kennedy was electrocuted in Cairns in 2012. He was laying cables in a ceiling and was unaware a non-compliant cable had worn and was live.
Dale was just ten days away from entering the final year of an electrical apprenticeship. He was a father to 15-month-old Cooper, partner to Tamara, son to Dan and Debbie, and brother and brother-in-law to Melissa and Cameron.
Dan and Debbie participate in the Consultative committee for work-related fatalities and serious incidents to help other grieving families navigate government departments following a workplace tragedy.
